A conman who stole tens of thousands of pounds from military veterans is back on the streets flaunting his wealth after getting out of jail early.
Shameless James Reilly has angered his victims by driving a top-of-the-range BMW with private plates to and from his luxury home.
Reilly was jailed for 13 months after admitting helping himself to £60,000 from the Tayforth Veterans’ Project in Dundee, which he opened in 2011 alongside Scots TV star Lorraine Kelly.
The money was supposed to help injured military personnel who have fallen on hard times – but instead it paid for improvements to Reilly’s house.
When the 67-year-old was jailed in July, he bleated to a sheriff that he didn’t have any money to repay the losses but that “some funds were available for a gesture”.
Now the furious veterans who helped expose him have demanded the Crown Office recover the stolen money by forcing him to sell his assets.
